The SS25 collection by MARYLING celebrates the greedy gaze of contemporaneity, aimed at researching and discovering everything and everywhere. And wrap it. Anything goes. Pixels and squares, lines and geometric shapes even in their most essential form, grouped together to become patterns. From the graphic motifs of the pedestrian strips in Paris to the antique gates and paintings in London; from the archaeological treasures of the Duomo di Milano foundation to the extraordinary mosaic floor of the Palazzo Ambrosiano: Everything is a matter of inspiration and together background on the new collection’s garments.
And not only. There is also room, in colors and shapes, for the madness of Op-art and the visionary mind of Victor Vasarely. It is still space for the union between opposites, while the tension between modern forms, clean and precise, meets with the magnetism of kitsch and excess, tinny and intense in its rich palette. Without forgetting the art maximalist Pierre and Gilles, with photos scratched by brushstrokes of painting and a fascinating visual heritage, always in balance between less is more and more is more. And then the iconic Peggy Moffitt, pioneer of body freedom and muse of legendary designer Rudi Geinreich, whose influence, emotional as well as visual, is reflected in the collection transmitting carefree, fun and lack of inhibition.
Here, then, are the knitted patterns with ton sur ton or black on white inlays, perfect to reflect the geometric shapes of architecture and Op-art while still present the typical colors of MARYLING such as electric blue, dark pink and peach. And it is the clothes that create optical effects capable of transforming the illusion into reality with the complicity of the layering that moves, deceiving the eyes. They are layered silk chiffon, printed or single-color habotai to dress without any moderation.Because the secret is only one. Functionality and originality combined in the most authentic MARYLING DNA, which does not forget its distinctive pieces, real must-haves of contemporary femininity attentive to fabric as color, prints as processing. The result is a collection to be desired and admired, but above all to wear because always exquisitely current.
