Milan, 23 February 2024.
Curiel, a centenary Italian Haute Couture house, unveils its Fall/Winter 2024 collection “Archive Peekaboo” and the couture collection “Alta Moda” at the Atelier of Via Montenapoleone 13 in Milan. It combines the typical research of Made in Italy with the exploration of archival silhouettes.
The CURIEL Fall/Winter 2024 collection reveals a selection of versatile garments, suitable for both day and evening occasions. Silhouettes vary from enveloping fits to softer lines. Drapes, asymmetrical elements, and precious embroidery characterize the collection. Fabrics such as wool, velvet, floral jacquard, lace and leather elevate the texture of the garments.
The palette is composed of soft colors such as vanilla, cream, butter, gray, nude, combined with touches of red, tobacco, green, pink and black.
Six evening dresses from the “Haute Couture” collection, curated by designer Matteo Thiela, are also introduced, in continuity with the sartorial heritage from the era of Gigliola Curiel, the brand’s second generation, and the allure of the period of Raffaella Curiel. They explore the combinations of light and shadow, black and white, intertwining minimalism with romantic luxury. In the creative process, the designer employed millions of pure silk threads, injecting unique vitality into the fabrics.
Precious materials give character to complex and contemporary silhouettes, evoking a sense of deep and surprising beauty. “Sensuality is an intrinsic art of humanity. For an artist, a piece of clothing must be a work of art,” says Matteo Thiela.
